St. Bride Library, Fleet Street, London is the largest library for printing, publishing and the graphic arts in the English-speaking world.
Earlier this year a group of us went on a 'typographic walking tour' of the area (organised by Mr Bingo) by arrangement with Type. It's a very good tour, we were guided by John Voller who gave a really interesting history of Fleet Street, the printers union and various typographic oddities of the city of London.
Highly recommended. Contact St. Brides for more information on their events and conferences.

Very nice! I’m envious.

Can I just correct a couple of points in this post? The tour guide is JOHN VOLLER and not John Randle as stated. The walk is by arrangement with TYPE (www.uktype.com) and not St Bride. And yes, the walks are very good, John Voller is both informative and entertaining and knows much about the history, architecture and typography in the City of London. A great way to see an old city from a new perspective. Everyone and anyone is welcome.
